About Polymnia

Polymnia Education LLC aims to offer serious, unusual and innovative courses and retreats that respond to the deep spiritual and emotional needs of the people of our time.

Polymnia's director, Eric Hewett, Ph.D., has spent his career in education in various capacities, including teaching foreign languages, leading walking tours as a docent, organizing educational travel, creating innovative courses and founding educational institutions.

Vice President for Operations, Brendan McGlone taught English and Latin at a Catholic high school in New Jersey for four years before moving to Rome to study ancient and medieval church history and art history at the Gregorian University. He has years of experience leading pilgrim groups, Latin courses, and other educational travel programs for American high school students in Italy. He specializes in creating exciting itineraries and educational materials for all of our customers.

Lucy Taeuber has been a teacher for over 10 years in Australia, Italy and beyond, she has also served as a Tour Guide with Polymnia Education with school groups reading, translating and experiencing Latin textsin contextual and inspiring settings. Lucy is now the Vice-President of Marketing, continuing to work with students, teachers and all lovers of learning with her Bachelors in Education and Masters in Theology fueling her passion.

Colin Gorrie is the author of Ōsweald Bera: An Introduction to Old English, a reader which teaches Old English in the spirit of Hans Ørberg's Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata series. He is also the Dean of Students at the Ancient Language Institute, where he teaches courses on Beowulf, Old English prose and poetry, and other beginner and intermediate courses in Latin and Old English. He received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Arizona in 2014.
